In some instances a PC will not allow the instrument to connect to one of its USB port because it cannot provide the battery charge current requested by the instrument. If you suspect that this may be a factor, try connecting the instrument to the output of an externally-powered USB hub that is capable of providing a full USB load (500 mA).
